Basilica Minor of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Vranov nad Topľou
The Basilica Minor of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Vranov nad Topľou is very simple from the outside, but it boasts beautiful interior decorations in the Baroque style. The church is the most valuable historical monument of the city.
In the 18th century, a rare historical icon of the Virgin Mary was moved to Vranov.
On September 6, 2008, the Pope promoted the church in Vranov nad Topľou to the BACILICA MINOR (smaller basilica).

The altars and the pulpit are decorated with valuable handicrafts from the workshop of Jozef Hartman, a woodcarver in Košice, and are a rare example of Baroque sculpture in the Eastern Slovakia. The main altar is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. In the center of the altar superstructure is a picture of the Virgin Mary.
Adjacent to the church is another listed building - the Pauline monastery. This monastery is of a later date, it was built in the 17th century.
