The wooden Greek Catholic Church of St. Archangel Michael, Frička
The wooden Greek Catholic Church of St. Archangel Michael has been standing in the middle of the village of Frička since 1829. The church has retained all of its original features, despite the fact that in 1933 and 1971 it underwent extensive renovations.
The three-part log building consists of a shrine, a nave and a vestibule. On the top of the building there are two towers and three crosses. The western part of the church is dominated by a massive tower with space for three bells, the oldest of which dates from 1697.
Inside the church there is a wooden five-panel iconostasis dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The interior also includes a richly carved imperial door with six medallions. Above the two deacon doors is the icon of the Last Supper and the icon of the Burial of Jesus. The interior was painted in 1933 by the Prešov painter J. Wagner.
The pride of the wooden temple is also the altar from 1716 and rare paintings.
