The wooden Greek Catholic Church of St. Paraschev, Nová Polianka (Svidník)
The Greek Catholic Church of St. Paraschev from Nová Polianka is the gem of the unique open-air museum in Svidník in the Northeastern Slovakia.
The church dates from 1766. It was damaged during the World War II, but after extensive repairs it was used until 1960. Only a year after renovation it was dismantled and in 1986, according to accurate documentation, re-build and moved to the open-air museum in Svidník.
Next to the temple there is a wooden bell tower, which has a square floor plan. Its roof is in the shape of a low pyramid, covered with shingles and houses two bells. At the top is a single-armed decorative cross.
The "heart" of the church is an iconostasis from the middle of the 18th century, which separates the nave from the sanctuary.
The church was opened in 1993 and regularly hosts services and masses.
