The wooden Greek Catholic Church of St. Nicholas, Zboj (Bardejovské Kúpele)
The Greek Catholic Church of St. Nicholas from 1775 is considered one of the most beautiful log wooden churches in Slovakia.
During the World War II, the village of Zboj, which lies on the border with Ukraine and Poland, was the center of fierce fighting and was largely destroyed, along with the wooden temple. Even though it was later repaired, the locals built a brick church and the original wooden church was transferred to the open-air museum in Bardejovské Kúpele in 1967.
The wooden church from the village of Zboj has three-rooms, three towers and three crosses. The entrance to the temple is from the west side.
Be sure not to miss the original four-panel Baroque iconostasis separating the nave of the church from the sanctuary. It is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved iconostasis from the 18th century.
