The valley Kôprová dolina

In addition to picturesque peaks, cold caves and sparkling waterfalls, High Tatras hide also beautiful valleys reminiscent of heaven. Meadows, slopes, forests, mountains, waterfalls and mountain lakes - all of this can be found in the valley Kôprová dolina (National Nature Reserve).

In the past, the valley served as a source of natural wealth. Today, it is a heaven for tourists and nature lovers. 12 kilometers long valley Kôprová dolina lies on the border of the Western and High Tatras. The hiking trail that passes through it leads visitors to true gems: meadows and forests around the Kôprovský stream, lakes, waterfalls.

The longest waterfall (80 m) of the High Tatras, the Kmeťov waterfall, is situated in the side valley of Nefcerka. The hiking trail leads through they valley Hlinská dolina to the saddle Vyšné Kôprovské sedlo and to the valley Mengusovská dolina. From the saddle the red-marked trail continues to Kôprovský Peak, which is the dominant feature of the local nature. The mountain lake Temnosmrečinské pleso, which is located in the side valley of the same name, is also worth visiting. With an area of 12.01 ha and a depth of more than 37 m, it is considered the third largest mountain lake of the Slovak side of the Tatras.
