Church of St. Stephen – The King, Domaša
When the construction of the Domaša water reservoir was being planned in the 1960s, several villages, including Kelča, had to be sacrificed along with their churches.
The only building that was saved thanks to its advantageous location on an elevated site was the ancient Baroque-Rococo Church of St. Stephen - The King.
To protect the church from the water, a fence was built around it, creating a charming semicircular peninsula. However, problems arose due to groundwater, which found its way to the walls of the church despite the protective measures.
