Lupkovský pass is located at an altitude of 640 meters above sea level in the northern ridge of the Laborecká Highlands on the Slovak-Polish state border.

The 416-meter-long Lupkovský tunnel with a railway line leads across the pass. You can get to the pass following a red tourist mark along the international route E8, which leads from the Laborecký pass to Vysoký grúň or a green mark from the village of Palota.
