The Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok
The open-air museum in Sanok is one of the largest such open-air museums in Poland. It was founded in 1958 and today it houses 200 buildings that have been relocated from various areas. The open-air museum is divided into different but similar-looking sections, each of which represents an ethnic group that lived in the region before the forced relocations after the Second World War.

In the museum you’ll find the “New” Rynek (town square), which is a replica of a Galician square from the second half of the 19th century, inhabited by the Polish, Jewish and Ruthenian populations. In addition to reconstructed houses from various Carpathian towns, there is also a genuine Jewish house, a fire station, a pub, a post office, a pharmacy, a shop, a barber shop and other buildings.
