Ružbachy craters are located in the spa town of Vyšné Ružbachy on the border of Pieniny and Spišská Magura. These are four large travertine craters along with several smaller craters. The most famous of these is the main spring called the Kráter (the Crater).

The protected natural formation Kráter (the Crater) is a one-of-a-kind spring not only in Slovakia, but also in the whole world. There are only three other springs of the same character as Kráter in the world. For years, locals used Kráter for relaxation. Swimming is prohibited in the natural lake, but visitors can sunbathe near it in the summer months.

In addition to admiring the Ružbachy craters, visitors can also enjoy relaxation at the Vyšné Ružbachy Spa. Vyšné Ružbachy Spa holds a special position among spas in Slovakia. Hot carbonic springs have been healing the body while the enchanting surrounding nature the soul since the 16th century.

Nervous system and cardiovascular diseases are treated here. Hotel Strand offers various types of treatments, a sauna and a thermal bath also as a one-day package. Medical procedures here often make use of rich mineral springs. The spa mainly treats cardiovascular diseases. The mineral water springing in the spa area is warm and slightly acidic.
