The wooden Greek Catholic Church of St. Paraschev, Dobroslava
The Greek Catholic Church of St. Paraschev in Dobroslav in the Svidník district was built at the beginning of the 18th century, in 1705. It was built using the ground plan resembling a Greek cross, making it the only church built in this way in Slovakia.
Due to its shape, the current building is basically made of five-parts, although it retains the classic division of vestibule - nave - sanctuary. The temple is built on stone foundations.
The temple has three unequally high domes, which are topped by towers. The most precious monument of the interior is the iconostasis from the 18th century.
The iconostasis has five panels – each panel features icons showing scenes from the New Testament, figures of apostles, prophets and other saints.
The wooden church of the village Dobroslava is on the map of Karpatská drevená cesta (Carpathian Wooden Road). The Carpathian Wooden Road joins more than 300 km of roads and trails connecting almost 50 objects of wooden sacral folk architecture of the regions close to the Slovak-Polish border.
