St. Mary's Pilgrimage - mobile app for pilgrims

For pilgrims on the Slovak-Polish border, the mobile application Svättomariánska pilgrimage is designed. The app is a practical helper on the way to the Marian sites and to the sites in their surroundings. The app is one of the outputs of the KOCR Northeast of Slovakia within the cross-border project St. Mary's Pilgrimage (Light from the East).

St. Mary's Pilgrimage mobile app provides clear information about Slovak and Polish places of pilgrimagethat are related to the Marian theme. Among them there are sites such as Mariánska hora in Levoča, Ľutina, Litmanová, Gaboltov, on the Polish side Stara Wies, Kalwaria Paclawska, Krosno and Debowiec. The app also includes places of Marian cult, i.e. churches and sites dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Tourists - pilgrims can also find in the app places of interest in the area, tips for other trips and many practical information.

The interesting thing is calendar of events, which contains an overview of the major pilgrimages. An excellent aid is precise localization and map documentation to help pilgrims get to the right place. The pilgrims' journey will also be made more enjoyable by the St. Mary's Song, a quiz and encouragement from the pilgrim.

The St. Mary's Pilgrimage (Light from the East) is a flagship project involving 13 partners, the lead partner being the Prešov Self-Governing Region. The task of the project is to create a new tourism product inspired by the most famous pilgrimage route of Santiago de Compostela. Part of the completion of tourist infrastructure elements at selected pilgrimage sites on the Slovak-Polish border - Levoča, Ľutina, Litmanová, Gaboltov, Stara Wies, Kalwaria Paclawska, Krosno and Debowiec.

The activities of the KOCR Northeast of Slovakia within the project include, besides its presentation at tourism exhibitions, the preparation of pilgrimage passports, a project song, marking of the pilgrimage route and many other activities related to the development of the new CR product.

Project St. Mary's Pilgrimage ("Light from the East") is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Poland - Slovakia 2014-2020.
