At the village Hostovice in Snina district heavy fighting took place during the First World War, especially in April 1915. Memento of these historical milestones is the cemetery where 112 soldiers of the predominantly Austro-Hungarian army are buried. There is also a memorial there.
Another reminder of the horrors of war is bell tower on the top of Skory (814 m above sea level)which was built in 2016. There is also a nature trail leading to it, which is 13 kilometres long in total. The route is lined with information panels, which bring the tourist closer to how the fighting took place in this region, what consequences it had and who specifically fought in the vicinity of the village Hostovice. The time it would take a tourist to complete this route is estimated at approximately four hours and 20 minutes.

The Beskydy Military History Club organises an annual march to the bell tower on Skory Hill, which is attended by Slovak and foreign tourists. It was this organisation that was responsible for the construction of this building. Among other things, it is dedicated to the restoration of World War I memorial sites throughout the north-east of Slovakia.
There are also other interesting places in the vicinity of Hostovice that commemorate the war events. It is for example the war cemetery in Stakčín, but also the Soldiers' Crypt in the nearby village of Osadné.
