Vrbov - Kežmarok - Strážky - Spišská Bela

Surface and difficulty: The recreational trail runs partly on flat ground, along a multi-use side road and over hills. The surface is asphalt. The part between Spišská Bela and Kežmarok is very suitable for families with children because of the many rest stops with play elements.

Description: The cycle route (green sign, later red sign) connects Vrbov (thermal swimming pool) and Spišská Bela. It starts in the village of Vrbov, where you can see the historic Renaissance bell tower, church and relax in the year-round thermal swimming pool. From Vrbov, the asphalt cycle path continues over the Ostrá skala hill, from where there are beautiful views of the High Tatras, Low Tatras and Levoča Hills. In the town of Kežmarok it is possible to visit unique historical monuments (the castle, the wooden articular church-UNESCO monument, the Gothic basilica and others). From the town centre, the cycle path continues along the multifunctional road to the suburban recreation zone (Hájovňa). Here the cycle path splits. The green mark in continues to the Zlatná pond and the Čajka ranch, where there are pleasant resting places. The red trail continues to the pumptrack and the rope bridge over the Poprad River to the manor house in Strážki. It leads through the park. There is a newly built rest area with refreshments nearby. The asphalt cycle path continues on to Spišská Bela to the pond. In Spišská Bela there is a museum of an important inventor in the field of optics - J.M Petzval.

Section 2 Spišská Bela - Tatranská Kotlina - Ždiar
Length: 16.5 km
Elevation: 110 +104m = 214m

Description: An easy 9 km long 3m wide all-asphalt cycling trail suitable for children, prams and in-line skates leads along the 1//67 road to Tatranská Kotlina (red sign). It connects Spišská Bela and Tatranská Kotlina, there are 4 resting places with a shelter on the trail. Parking and refreshments are available at the Belianske Pond. The entire route offers a beautiful view of the Belianske Tatras. In winter, the trail is groomed and used for cross-country skiing.
From Tatranská Kotlina, a 7.5 km long paved trail marked with a green sign continues in the forest to Ždiar to the crossroads at the turn-off to the Monkova valley. The elevation on this part of the route is 104 m.
