In the past, the Heavy Valley was referred to as the Czech Valley - a mistranslation from Polish. Before 2006, Ciężký vodopád was known as Český vodopád (Czech Waterfall).
In the Ťažká valley lies the Ťažké pleso at an altitude of 1,612 m above sea level and the Zmrzlé pleso at an altitude of 1,760 m above sea level.
Above the Frozen Pale, the Gallery of the Gánek rises: a 300-metre, almost perpendicular wall drops into the Heavy Valley from the debris terrace below the summit of the Little Gánek. The ascents of the Gánka Gallery have for many decades determined the measure of the climbers' qualities and have represented, practically since the 1930s, the culmination of Tatra sport climbing.
The heavy waterfall can be seen from the blue marked trail from Lysá Poľana to Prieloma.
The waterfall is not accessible.
