Protected area Holá hora

Protected area Holá hora (since 1990) is located in the intraviláne of the city of Prešov. It consists of Kolman's Garden, which fulfils the function of a city park, and the garden part of the eco-centre "Holá Hora", which fulfils the function of ecological education.

In the past, efforts were made to create a gene pool area on these sites for the purpose of cultivation of protected and endangered plant species of the Eastern Slovakia region in order to strengthen their populations in nature.

In the area of the Ecocentre there is a living zoo - aquariums, terrariums and aviaries for birds and domestic livestock, which also serve for ecological purposes.

The avenue of trees consisting of 48 hornbeams, 15 maples and a lime tree has a high dendrological value. Among the flora, the lime family and the most widespread perennial mint can be found here.
