The Wahlenbergské pleso are located in the upper part of the Furkot valley. The Wahlenbergské pleso are named after the Swedish botanist, one of the first important explorers of the Tatra nature Goran Wahlenberg (1780-1851).
Vyšné Wahlenberg lake sa nachádza na najvyššom prahu Furkotskej doliny. Má rozlohu 5,18 ha, hĺbku 21 m a nachádza sa v nadmorskej výške 2157 m n. m. Na severe sa nad plesom vypína Furkotský štít (2403m.n.m). The lake has no surface inflow or outflow.
Lower Wahlenberg lake located in the lower terrace. It has an area of 2 ha, depth 8 m. It is located at an altitude of 2053 m above sea level. The outflowing subsurface water appears below as the Furkotský brook, which later flows into the Biele Váh.
