The wooden Greek Catholic Church of the Ascension of the Lord, Šmigovec
The church was built on a slope in the middle of the cemetery in 1755. It is one of the smallest churches in the Snina region.
As a result of unprofessional repairs of the roof and tower in 1936, the church was in poor technical condition and almost fell into disrepair. It was saved by a comprehensive renovation that took place in 2013 during which the sheet metal roof was replaced with a shingle roof. Further repairs took place in 2016.
An interesting feature of this wooden temple is the five-panel iconostasis with 24 icons of prophets. The iconostasis was probably produced at the time of the construction of the temple.
