Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will definitely enjoy the region of the High Tatras. The Štrbské Pleso area features several trails with different difficulty of a total length of 25 km. Cross-country trails can also be found in Tatranská Lomnica, Starý Smokovec, but also in the foothills. In winter, Black Stork Golf Resort turns into a cross-country paradise featuring several cross-country trails with a total length of more than 10 km.

Let yourself be carried away by the alpine panoramas and the fantastic winter atmosphere of the picturesque mountain range. 

Tatranská Lomnica

In the state-of-the-art Slovak ski resort Tatranská Lomnica there are 12 slopes of various difficulty levels.

With an elevation of up to 1,300 meters, a 5-month snow guarantee, a state-of-the-art 15-seat gondola lift and wide slopes ensure a great experience on the first-class 5.5 kilometers long and 60 meters wide carving track. The resort also features almost 6 km of easy downhill slopes popular with children.

Here you can enjoy skiing on the highest placed and steepest slope in the saddle Lomnické sedlo (2,190 meters above sea level), formerly also known as Skier’s Heart. Lovers of freeride and adrenaline will surely fall in love with the saddle Lomnické sedlo.

Audi Ski Arena – a slalom track with timekeeping system is also very popular. The track is located on the slope Čučoriedky západ (eastern side of the slope). 

Štrbské pleso

Štrbské Pleso is the highest placed ski resort with a lower station at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level and the longest ski season in Slovakia. It boasts with excellent skiing conditions for downhill or cross-country skiing and services of the highest standard.

The skiers can look forward to 9 kilometers of easy and medium-difficulty downhill slopes popular with families and children and advanced skiers alike. An eco-friendly SKIbus will take you comfortably from the parking lot or hotel to the resort (minimum waiting times).

Štrbské Pleso is the largest cross-country skiing center in the Tatras with 8 professionally groomed cross-country trails with a length from 0.5 to 5 km (20 km in total). Thanks to artificial snow, the SNOW cross-country skiing area can be used throughout the whole winter season. Trail of different difficulty will please both beginners and professionals. Are you a fan of running? Then do not miss the sports areal FIS and enjoy a jog around the mountain lake Štrbské pleso. Put on your cross-country skiing boots and explore the valley Furkotska dolina.

Adrenaline lovers can visit the attractive snow park on the left side of the Interski ski slope, where popular adrenaline competitions are often held.

Enjoy the best skiing moment in the beautiful surroundings of the highest Tatra settlement with a magical atmosphere. Rich history and luxury hotels are just a cherry on the top.

Starý Smokovec

Casual skiers and especially beginners should head to Starý Smokovec. Jakubkova meadow with easy difficulty slopes will prepare beginners for more demanding slopes. If you want to teach your children to ski, a professional team of ski instructors will be happy to take care of them. The resort offers ski passes at a good price valid only in the resort, which less skilled skiers will appreciate.

A day or night bobsleighing on the 2.5 km track from Hrebienok to Starý Smokovec is the best form of relax after a demanding day on a slope. Feeling tired? Use the cable car.

Starý Smokovec is an ideal starting point for winter hiking to alpine cottages and waterfalls. Those who are not afraid of winter will enjoy hikes through the snowy landscape straight out of the fairy tale.

In winter, Hrebienok turns into a center of an ice art. An ice carving championship called Tatry Ice Master is being held here regularly. Be sure not to miss the Tatras Dome Basilica.
