Východná Vysoká (High Tatras)

Východná Vysoká (2,428 meters above sea level) is a very important peak in the main ridge of the High Tatras popular for the views it offers. It rises above the three valleys: Velická dolina, Veľká Studená dolina (Big Cold Valley) and Bielovodská dolina (above the part of the valley Svišťová dolina called Zamrznutý kotol (Frozen Couldron).

From the top there is a beautiful view of the whole Tatras.

Difficulty: very strenuous hike with a steep elevation, yet one of the longest and most beautiful in the Tatras. In the area of the Polish ridge there are often summer snow fields! Only the descent from the Polish ridge, which is secured by chains, is difficult.

How to get there:

From Lysá Poľana we follow along very comfortable, wide trail with mild ascent to the gamekeeper's lodge – Biela voda. From there you can enjoy a unique view of the northern High Tatras. In front of you there is thev alley Žabia Bielovodská dolina, bounded by Mlynár (2,169 m) and Nižný Žabí peak (2,098 m), behind it Rysy (2,503 m) and Vysoká (2,547 m).
