Obišovce Castle
The remains of the castle ruins lie north of the village Obišovce at an altitude of 360 m in a place called Zámčisko in the cadastral territory of the village Obišovce.
The nearby ancient fortified settlement of Stráža provided its refuge as early as Roman times (in the 2nd - 3rd centuries). Today's ruins of the castle are the remains of a fortress built in the 13th century by the lords of Drienov from the Abov family.
Obišovce Castle is one of the oldest castles in Slovakia. It fell into disrepair in the 15th century.
How to get there:
You can get to the castle from Ličartovce or from Obišovce from the valley of the river Svinka.
