Poliankovo, Tatranská Polianka (digital gallery)

If you think that galleries are boring for children, you will surely change your mind once you set a foot inside Poliankovo Gallery in Tatranská Polianka. Children will fall in love with modern technologies that will give them a perfect visual experience. Where else will you be able to swim down a raging river, or dive above the highest waterfall in the world? 

The co-creator of the individual exhibitions is the well-known Slovak documentarist Pavol Barabáš, who has been supporting this unique project since its inception.

The Poliankovo Gallery offers the opportunity to get to know unexplored places that only top climbers and true adventurers have visited. 

Thanks to digital simulations, such as virtual reality, 3D projections, augmented reality pictures, photographs and shadow play, visitors can visit up to 11 different places on our planet.

The Poliankovo Gallery is open to the public every day from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

TANAP Museum, Tatranská Lomnica

Straight from Poliankovo you can head to the TANAP Museum, where you will get to know the attractions of the Tatras. Every year, the museum welcomes around 30,000 visitors, and thus ranks among the most visited museums in Slovakia. In the museum you will find representative samples of insects, butterflies, reptiles, fish, birds and a model of bear lair. You can relax during a stroll in the nearby botanical garden.

Tatra Ice Dome

Svištia krajinka (Marmot World), the mountain lake Skalnaté Pleso

Another great tip for a trip is the outdoor marmot playground at the cable car station at the mountain lake Skalnaté Pleso. Children will learn what Tatra animals have which footprints in a fun way. In addition to climbing frames, the playground also features carved wooden chamois, marmots, bears and much more. You can get there by a cable car from Tatranská Lomnica, or on foot from Hrebienok along Tatranska Magistrala (hiking trail).

At each station there are toys adapted to simulate each profession.

Rope parks

Enjoy the newly opened Spider Park rope center located in the village of Tatranská Kotlina below Belianska Cave.

The rope center simulates conditions of extreme survival on a 250 m long track with an elevation of 6 m in some places. There are many interesting obstacles hanging on the trees, which will keep children and adults entertained. Come and see if you are better than your children, overcome your fears and test the limits of your abilities. Young children can enjoy Minispider rope park with a special track where they can improve their movements and stability.

In the nearby village of Tatranská Lomnica, there is another adventure waiting for children - the rope park Jazierko.
