The Statue of the Lord Laborec – Habura
In the vicinity of Habura you must stop by a wooden church, a small game reserve, and a bronze statue of the Lord of Laborec. Magnificent views of the surrounding nature and the remarkable sculpture create a unique atmosphere that is definitely worth a visit.
The large statue of the Lord Laborec is located above the village on a hill above a picturesque wooden church.
It is more than five meters high and stands on an almost two-meter pedestal made of natural stone. The statue was erected in the memory of the Lord Laborec and symbolizes the unity of the Ruthenians.
In the pedestal under the bronze statue is a box with soil from 106 Ruthenian villages, symbolizing the unity of the Ruthenians.

The Slavic Lord Laborec lived at the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries. After the invasion of the Old Hungarian tribes into the Carpathian Basin, the Lord and his followers fled. On the banks of the Sviržava, however, he was caught and executed. Since then, the river has been called Laborec.
The valley below the statue is called the Valley of the Lord Laborec. A sidewalk with information boards leads towards the statue.
