Turzańsk

Turzańsk is a village lying in the north-eastern part of Komańcza some 2 km from Rzepedź. It is located at the confluence of the Osława River and the Osławka Stream. The village was founded at the start of the 16th century.

The village is still living its life. Its long history is recalled by the road crosses preserved in excellent condition and the Lemko cottages, which are still inhabited or used as farm buildings.

Wooden Sacral Church of St. Michael the Archangel – UNESCO

The church was built between 1801 – 1803. It was originally a Greek-Catholic church, but it has been an Orthodox church since 1963.

A wooden belfry was gradually built for the church, and the church was later expanded with a porch and a storage room for candles. A complete iconostasis from 1895 has been preserved inside the church.

The church is recorded to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
