Krivany, a Šariš village in the Sabinov district, is the birthplace of the well-known ethnologist, folklorist, collector and educator Ján Lazorík. An avid lover of traditions, he collected antiques, objects, materials and documents that map traditions not only of Krivany, but also of the entire Šariš region. Ján Lazorík also contributed to the creation of the exposition at the Center of Folk Culture, which is definitely worth a visit.

When in Krivany, be sure not to miss the stone mill from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Center of Folk Culture in Krivany is the only one of its kind in Slovakia. The center exhibits collection items by Ján Lazorík, who tried to collect as many items characteristic of the folk tradition of the picturesque Šariš region as possible. In the area of the Center there are several typical monuments of folk architecture, such as authentic wooden granaries and a renovated classic residential hut with folk furniture inside.

There is also a craft yard, where craft and technical tools related to various activities are on display. In the center and in the village there are wooden sculptures from the workshop of a local carver. An exhibition of traditional costumes can be seen in the municipal office building.
